The top three most popular university programs are all in Stockholm:

The Bachelor of Science Program in Business and Economics at Handelshögskolan (Stockholm School of Economics) is the most popular, followed by the Law Program and the Medical Doctor Program at the Karolinska Institute.

The Law Program at Lund University follows as the fourth most sought-after educational program, and the first one outside of the capital.

“It’s the greater universities and schools that dominate, mostly because that’s where many of the specialist programs are,” explains Andreas Sandberg, Director of Program Organization at Verket för Högskoleservice.

The number of people who have applied to study at colleges and universities in Sweden for the next school year is record high: 346 230, a 2% increase from last year.
